A nearly identical cobalt blue egg with gilt floral and gadrooned overglaze design produced by the Imperial Porcelain Factory in the 1850-1860s is illustrated in in T. Kudriavtseva and H. Whitbeck, Russian Imperial Easter Eggs, London, 2001, p. 248, No. 194.
