Maker's mark DJF, Oporto, first half 19th century
the oblong section pot supported on a pedestal base with four bun feet, with a carved wood handle, the hinged cover with a part lobed ball finial, marked on edge of foot - 31cm. (12¼in.) high, 40.8oz. (1,270gr.) gross.
