The combination of the applied shield containing Wolfers' monogram and the banner underneath stamped 'Ex. Unique' indicates that the piece was made by Phillipe Wolfers himself, rather than a production piece by Wolfers Frres. Only 139 Art Nouveau objects were made of which 109 were jewels. Thus, as a jewel made, as well as conceived by Wolfers himself, it is a rare example of his work.
