Compare with the similar dish excavated at Jingdezhen and included in the exhibition of Imperial Porcelain of the Yongle and Xuande Periods, 1989, Hong Kong Museum of Art, Catalogue, no. 67, and another of similar design in the National Palace Museum, Taibei, included in the Special Exhibition of Selected Hsuan-te Imperial Porcelains of the Ming Dynasty, 1998, Catalogue, no. 69. Other dishes of this size and pattern are in the Gulbenkian Museum of Oriental Art and Archaeology, University of Durham, illustrated in the Malcolm MacDonald Collection, Catalogue, pl. XXXVII, no. 114; in the Kempe Collection, Catalogue, no. 160; and two others from the Cunliffe Collection and the Clark Collection were included in the London O.C.S. Exhibition of Celadon Wares, 1947, Catalogue, no. 2 and 5. An identical dish was sold in these Rooms, 31 October 1994, lot 563.
