Lot Essay

Key rings or (claviers) of this form, usually with a bent handle for wearing presumably as a chatelaine, seem to have been a speciality of Montpellier silversmiths and particularly Jacques Bazille, (see Laurent Deguara, Orfévrerie de Montpellier et du Languedoc, Montpellier, 1995, p. 111, no. 933)
