A RARE PERCUSSION K BORE HARPOON GUN by W.W. GREENER, circa 1870
The massive iron barrel of K bore, is mounted with a heavy bronze sighting rib set with fore-sight, retained with two large screws and is marked W.W. GREENER BIRMINGHAM, with hinged cover plate secured by a chained pin at back enclosing the percussion hammer and nipple in a water-tight compartment, massive walnut stock with trunions and swivel yoke, with iron barbed harpoon. The whole upon a walnut stand with a brass plate marked THE ORIGINAL MODEL HARPOON GUN/FROM THE SHOWROOMS OF W.W. GREENER.
