A RARE SET OF FIVE BRAZILIAN SILVER CANDELABRA
Rio de Janeiro, circa 1850; maker's mark of Jose Fernandes de Carvalho, the larger example maker's mark of Guimaraes & Cruz
Comprising: one centerpiece six-light candelabrum and a set of four five-light examples, each on square base supported by lions couchant, the baluster stem with three classical masks, the scrolling foliate branches supporting sockets now fitted with chimney holders, marked on bases
