Lot Essay

Deutsche Kunst und Dekoration, whose editor was Alexander Koch, was much more interested in works of The Glasgow Style by Mackintosh and his contemporaries than any comparable British publication.

The composition of this cover design relates to the gesso panel The Awakening of the Rose.

Apparently only one other copy of this issue is recorded in the collection of the Hunterian Art Gallery, University of Glasgow
