The card-table, with paired reed-enriched pillars and Grecian-scrolled 'claw', relates in form to a table illustrated in Thomas Sheraton's Cabinet Dictionary, 1803; while the cut corners display libation-patterae in the antique fashion popularised around 1815 by George Bullock of Tenterden Street, Hanover Square (see M. Levy, 'Napoleon in Exile', Furniture History, 1998, pp. 1-211).
