The silvered dial signed and numbered Arnold, LONDON. 339, Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds dial (at VI), pinned plates the top-plate signed John R. Arnold, London, Invt et Fecit No. 339, Arnold escapement, Z bimetallic balance with non-ferrous outer and steel inner laminae with brass cross-arm, undersprung blued steel helical balance spring, Arnold detent with steel locking pallet (repairs), brass bowl, the bezel with bayonet securing slots, square section gimbal, Arnold three-tier mahogany box with visual dovetailing and ebony edging to top lid, bone ivory plaque (blank) to front of middle section, external brass drop handles; with the original brass winding key numbered 339
