This work-table, with its plinth-supported and inverted lyre-shaped trestle-ends, is designed in the early 19th century 'antique' manner and is embellished with French-style ormolu mounts. A work-table of the same pattern, but incorporating a games-board and fitted wih a fretted gallery, is illustrated in M.Jourdain and R.Fastnedge, Regency Furniture, London, rev. ed., 1965, p.71, fig. 153.
A related brass-inlaid table is in the Victoria and Albert Museum (no. W.60-1931)
