With pierced gallery and leather-lined slant lid enclosing small drawers, and with writing drawer to one side, the case with panelled front and cabinet door to one side enclosing long drawers-30½in. (78cm.) high, 21¾in. (55cm.) wide, 20¼in. (51cm.) deep
This form of desk was reputedly first supplied to a Captain Davenport in the 1790's by the firm of Gillow.
