A RUSSIAN SILVER TABLE SERVICE
MARK OF WORKMASTER A.T. for ALEXANDER LYUBAVIN, 1896/1908
Comprising: 6 oyster forks; 6 cold meat forks with twin prongs; 6 cheese knives with replacement stainless steel blades; a pair of circular salts with gilt interiors and pair of salt spoons; a pair of corn-on-the-cob holders; a sprung pickle fork; a pair of fish servers; a caviar spoon; a butter knife; a cheese knife with replacement stainless steel blade; a tart server; another smaller; a server with curved blade and fiddle pattern handle; also a small knife and fork for hors d'oeuvres; all contained in fitted wood box lined in blue velvet, the cover lined in oyster silk printed with retailer's details in Cyrillic, 'A.LYUBAVIN, ST.PETERSBURG' with Imperial Warrant above, cover applied with silver plaque celebrating a 25th Anniversary and inscribed in Cyrillic, translating as 'For the deeply respected Master and Mistress Vasiliy Samulovitch and Margarita Ivanovna Sheperdson from grateful servants and workers, 29 August, 1903' (35)
