Lot Essay

While the glaze is very similar to that found on the underside of a small number of 17th century dishes, the scale of this piece and particularly the delicacy of the potting appear to link it closer to the Gombroon wares of the 18th century than the earlier heavier potted Kirman monochromes such as the preceding lot.
