A SANCAI-GLAZED POTTERY CIRCULAR TRAY AND SIX CUPS
TANG DYNASTY (AD 618-907)
The shallow tray is raised on a circular foot ring and has upright sides decorated in green, amber and cream glazes that are arranged in stripes on the exterior and fall in an irregular line on the unglazed interior and underside. The cups, of varying sizes and shapes, are splash-glazed in a similar palette. Together with a small sancai splashed-glazed cup, Tang dynasty.
Tray 9 5/8 in. (24.3 cm.) diam.
