Signed Dai Nihon Satsuma Kizan saku, Meiji period (late 19th century)
Modelled as a seated Buddha holding a rosary in his left hand, decorated in various coloured enamels and gilt on a crackled cream ground, the lotus seat on an octagonal base with hosoge [floral motifs]
