A Savonerie carpet, Probably France The shaded sang-de-boeuf field with bold polychrome stylised wreath together with ribbon linking single palmette at each end around large ivory shaped medallion containing acanthus leaves and shell motifs enclosing shaded blue-grey roundel with radiating leafy centrepiece, innerframe border of bold polychrome scrolling acanthus leaves and shaped panels, in sang-de-boeuf border of open palmettes and scrolling vine between plain stripes, old repairs, slight wear, localized areas of splits 621cm. x 382cm.(20ft.5in. x 12ft.6in.)
