A SCOTTISH ALL-METAL FLINTLOCK BELT PISTOL BY THOMAS CADDELL

With four-stage barrel engraved with arrangements of scrolling foliage, flared faceted muzzle engraved with alternating decorative panels, fluted ramped breech, engraved bevelled lock signed 'Thos Caddell', the cock incorporating a pierced engraved flowerhead disc behind the comb, three-quarter length stock engraved with panels of scrolling foliage and border ornament, the butt inlaid with a pair of silver escutcheons, one pricked with the owner's initial 'B' (the other rubbed), silver button trigger and pricker each engraved with an expanded flowerhead, engraved belt hook with pierced finial, and iron ramrod (small patches of very light pitting).
