A SHELDON HUNTING TAPESTRY
Late 17th Century
Woven in wools and silks, depicting a marching hunter with a bird strapped to his back and a dog before him, before an open landscape with some trees, to the right with a pond with three ducks, the top and bottom with a scrolling foliate band, within a later metal-thread border, minor reweaving and patching, previously part of a larger panel and now mounted on board
9 in. x 10 in. (24 cm. x 26 cm.)
