A Shibayama Koro [Incense Burner]
Signed Masakazu and Masatomo, Meiji Period (late 19th century)
The silver lobed body pierced with chrysanthemums and swirling waters, two applied handles in the form of ho-o birds, with two inset lacquer panels inlaid in Shibayama style on a kinji ground with a presentation basket of flowers, the reverse with birds in a plum tree, the cover and foot inlaid in various coloured cloisonné enamels
