Painted with Dido seated on her throne and conforted by an attendant, another attendant pulling at Aeneas's arm, among bushes and trees before distant buildings and mountains, within a manganese line and ochre rim (centre with two areas of re-painting to disguise flaking, minute rim chip at 12 o'clock, slight flaking to rim)
