A SILVER TANKARD, bearing maker's mark of Isaac Cookson, Newcastle, 1749, later decorated and inscribed, tapering cylindrical, on circular base, with mid-band and tubular scroll handle, the hinged domed cover with scroll thumbpiece, the body later chased with foliate, scroll and rocaille decoration, the base engraved with the inscription PRESENTED TO JOHN OGLE, ON HIS COMING OF AGE DEC.1919, BY PHILIP NOBLE TENANT OF KIRKLEY 1913-1919--7 3/8in.
