A similar pair of Chinese blue and white ginger jars, Kangxi (1662-1722)
each of ovoid form rising to the short tapering neck, supported on a recessed foot, painted with two seated ladies playing weiqi with another carrying a musical instrument, all within a fenced garden with a plantain tree growing amidst rockwork, underglaze blue conch shell marks -- 4 11/16in. (11.8cm.) high. (2)
