Murphy, comprising; two coffee pots, a teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl with integrated spoon, each with spun drum-shaped bodies and curved wooden handles held between angular flange brackets, with triangular wedge shaped finials, the handle of the sugar spoon slotted to fit on the finial of its bowl, four pieces stamped with maker's marks HGM and emblematic falcon, with London hallmarks and wedding jubilee marks for 1934, the second coffee pot with stamped maker's mark JM with later London hallmarks for 1963 22cm. height of coffee pots

Lot Essay

According to the present owner, the coffee pot with the later mark was wrought at the same time as the other pieces. It was unfinished at the time of H.G. Murphy's death, in 1939, but assembled and finished to the order of his widow
