A SMALL WHITE JADE QUADRILOBED VASE AND COVER
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The vase, of square section, is finely carved on each lobe of the body with two entwined bird-headed scrolls, and the lobes of the neck with pendent cicada blades. The cover is surmounted by a platform of conforming shape and a square finial carved with one of the Eight Trigrams, qian (heaven), flanked by two dragons. The semi-translucent, white stone is of even tone.
