A rare helmet with white metal fittings, bearing the Baden Griffin with wings outstretched in Garde style, mounted with the Star of The Order of Fidelity, and scroll inscribed MITT GOTT F. FUERST U. VATERLAND, with National cockade on right and gold/red/gold Baden cockade on left (chinstrap probably a replacement).

The Griffin with the Star superimposed was unique to the 109th Grenadiers and commemorated the regiment's pre-Unification status as a Guard unit.
