The headboard and footboard centred by a bearded mask framed by a cartouche, with eagle finials to the angles, above a frieze with chandelles-filled flutes and acanthus sprays on a panelled plinth with ormolu-cast border, on winged and draped sphinxes adorned with necklaces and standing on ebonised rectangular bases, some parcel-gilt elements, including the plumed tails of the eagles, repositioned, possibly originally with canopy
