QING DYNASTY, 18TH-19TH CENTURY
The censer is carved to the body with stylised taotie masks amonsgt leafy scrolling foliage, all between a pair of winged mythical beast-head handles. The cover is carved with an elaborate bud-form finial encircled by a band of floral blooms. The stone is of a dark spinach tone with areas of black streaked and speckled inclusions.
