oval box, the cover, sides and base enamelled in translucent blue on engine-turned concentric reeding scattered with pellets, within opaque white enamel bands, the cover centred with an oval enamel plaque depicting an artist and putto painting the portrait of a young lady, within a sablé gold mount applied with opalescent pellets, the sablé gold borders on cover and base set with opalescent pellets and blue enamel flowers with green leaves, the rectangular side panels divided by similar decoration on a sablé ground
