Converted to a compact, the box of rectangular outline with curved sides, the cover inset
with a gold plaque cast in the manner of Kirstein of Strasburg, chased and engraved with a
scene depicting a woman, cow and cherubs, with clear cover, the gold frame, sides and base of
matte-finished gold with yellow and rose gold scrolling flowers and foliage, with thumb piece,
opening to reveal a mirror and powder compartment with screen the interior marked IM
incuse, engraved Moulinie, Bautte et Moynier on flange
3 3/8 x 2 3/8 x 7/8 ins., gross weight (including mirror and screen) - 251.6 grams.

Jean Gabriel Moynier joined the most distinguished partnership of gold box makers, Moulinie
et Bautte, in 1804. His name was added in full until 1808.
