Lot Essay

Athough all the flatware bears the Gorham & Co marks some pieces are additionally marked Spaulding & Co. who acquired control of Gorham & Co. in the 1920's until 1943 when the company became known as Spaulding & Co. The Imperial Chrysanthemum pattern was first introduced by Gorham & Co. in 1894.
