A VICTORIAN GOLD-MOUNTED HARDSTONE HAND-SEAL
LONDON, CIRCA 1860
realistically formed as a knight's armoured leg, the calf and thigh of carved bloodstone, the gold mounts chased with scrolls and foliage, the cover matrix engraved with a coat-of-arms
4 in. (50 mm.) high
The arms are those of William, 11th Baron Ward (1817-1885), later created 1st Earl of Dudley in 1860.
