A VICTORIAN SILVER FIVE-PIECE TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE WITH A GEORGE III SILVER TRAY**
The tea service maker's mark of Thomas William and Henry Holmes Dobson, London, 1877/78; the tray maker's mark of William Fountain, London, 1797
Comprising coffee pot on stand with burner, teapot, cream jug, sugar bowl and sugar tongs; each oval with a part-fluted body and narrow foliage border, with wood handle and part-fluted spout, the hinged part-fluted cover surmounted by a fluted finial, one side of body engraved with monogram MP, the other side engraved with crest and motto, the oval tray with reeded border and two bracket handles, the field engraved with coat-of-arms, crest and motto; all in fitted wood case with plaque DOBSON & SONS SILVERSMITHS 32 PICCADILLY, fully marked, the pots also stamped DOBSON PICCADILLY
The coffee pot on stand 11in. (28cm.) high, the tray 21¼in. (54cm.) long over handles; gross weight 119oz. (3718gr.) (6)
