MARK OF SAMUEL HAYNE AND DUDLEY CATER, LONDON, 1838
Circular oak and with silver-gilt lining, the pull off cover applied with a cast copy of the arms of the Worshipful company of Goldsmiths', engraved inside the cover with an inscription, marked inside base and cover and on arms
4 in. (10.2 cm.) diameter
The inscription reads 'This Box made from the Oak of the Old Hall of the Goldsmiths' Company which was pulled down 1830 Rebuilt 1835'
