CIRCA 1770, BLUE SHIELD MARK
The mother with a striped headdress, black necklace, flowered and striped white dress and pale-yellow overskirt, holding a child and seated on rocks with her hat on a tree-stump to her left, on a grassy rockwork high mound base (her right foot and top of tree-stump restuck, restoration and chip to hat, her left great toe lacking, minute chipping to leaves in child's hands, slight wear to gilding)
