A VIENNA (DU PAQUIER) TABLE-BELL
CIRCA 1730
The domed body decorated with shaped red and gilt diaper panels about the base of the handle, enclosed below by purple foliate scrolls suspending purple tasselled swags alternating with panels with baskets of flowers and edged with red foliate scrolls centred above by blue lambrequins and suspending husks below, above a gilt scroll and line border and scalloped red line rim, the baluster handle stem with red and gilt strapwork panels enclosing coloured shells, the finial with interlocking red scrolls below a scalloped purple border and gilt knop, the interior with a porcelain clapper painted with flowerheads and attached to a gilt-metal chain (minute wear)
