A VIENNA (DU PAQUIER) WHITE FIGURE OF HARLEQUIN FROM THE COMMEDIA DELL'ARTE

Modelled with his right hand pushing back his tasselled conical hat, his face with a moustache and a cheeky grin, his curly hair and eyes incised, his left hand resting on a slap-stick tucked under his belt, standing on an incised grassy oval mound base (tip of slap-stick lacking, base with firing crack and small firing fault)

A similar, but coloured, figure of Harlequin (with a black mask) in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, is illustrated by J.F.
