Philippe Xhrouuet (père) was a very versatile painter who was active at Sèvres from 1750 to 1775. His subjects included flowers, patterns, birds, figures and landscapes.

With entwined gilt branch handles and finial, painted en camaïeu rose with children playing in rustic landscape vignettes, within gilt dentil rims (small rim chip to stand, crack to footrim of stand, slight scratching to well, slight wear to gilding)
