7 in. (17.8 cm.) high
Provenance
Anon., sale Metz Heidelberg, 21st March 1992, lot 39.
Literature
Volkstedter Porzellan, 1760-1800, Thüringer Landesmuseum Heidecksburg, Rudolstadt, Exhibition Catalogue (1999), p. 105, cat. no. 97, where it is suggested that the sitter could be Sabine Kunigunde Friedrike Nonne (1779-1855), which is at odds with Scherf, below.
Special Notice

No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 15% will be added to the buyer's premium which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.

Lot Essay

See Helmut Scherf, Thüringer Porzellan (Leipzig, 1980), p. 39 for a very similar plaque with the same sitter, identified as Rosina Dorothea Nonne.
