Unsigned, Muromachi Period (14th-15th Century)
The blade hirazukuri, mitsumune, itame hada, o-midare hamon of nie with sunagashi, ko-maru boshi with hakikakke and kaeri yoru, a so no kurikara and rendai horimono on the omote, a bonji and a koshibi ni soebi and bonji on the ura possibly atobori, suriage nakago, 20.9cm., in its patterned orange saya, rogin fuchi-kashira and kojiri with a tree and foliage in gilt and silver takazogan, the tsuka covered with metal plates with a gilt rinzu pattern, the ring kurikata similarly inlaid, plain koiguchi, gilt shishi menuki on a band, the foliate shibuichi uragawara inlaid flush, similar inlay around the kurikata, plain gilt tanto tsuba with a roped silver rim, associated sentoku ishimeji kozuka with a japanese man in low relief, iroe details, signed Naonobu and kao, 19th century
