A Wiener Werkstätte parcel gilt box designed by Josef Hoffmann, rectangular stepped shape with beaded trim, the top set with two cabochon lapis lazuli and a central enamel painted plaque under bevelled glass of a maiden with flowing hair gazing into a carp pond, stamped Wiener Werkstätte, with various other marks including the WW monogram, the Rose mark, the artist's monogram and the metal worker's monogram AW (Adolf Wertnik), circa 1909
