A William IV burr-walnut and ebonised library timepiece
Vulliamy, London, No.1842. Circa 1835
The lunette-arched cased with moulded cornicing, with ebonised mouldings to the front and sides forming panels, solid rear door, the rectangular base on simple block feet, with silvered sight ring to a silvered and engraved Roman dial signed VULLIAMY, LONDON, with blued steel moon hands, regulation arbor behind the door above XII, the four pillar movement with thick rectangular plates and secured to a raised seatboard via two screws to brackets on the front and back plates, single chain fusee with half deadbeat escapement, with pendulum rise and fall positioned on a platform above the plates, the back plate signed VULLIAMY. LONDON. NO.1842., with Vulliamy-type steel rod pendulum with regulation nut to a cylindrical brass bob with punched number 1842
