LONDON', gilt-brass main hands, blued steel centre seconds hand MOVEMENT: substantial plates with six pillars, triple fusees, monometallic lever balance to large platform to back plate signed 'Just & Son/LONDON', front plate numbered '9692', quarter-striking on eight bells, hour strike on further bell

Leonard Just was a maker of watches for the Chinese market and recorded working in London from 1790-1844. The number on the front plate of the movement probably indicates Thwaites and Reed manufacture and a date of circa 1835/36.
