A Wood Figure of Gundari Myo-o (Kundali)
Edo period (18th century)
The figure bare-chested with flowing robes over the shoulder and at the waist and with a tiger skin, all painted in polychrome pigments and gold, standing on two subdued demons, the six arms holding various attributes including a bow and arrow, a spear, a Buddhist wheel and a sword, remains of a skull necklace and a larger skull emanating from the top of his head, glass eyes, the halo behind the figure adorned with gilt-metal flames, set on a gold-lacquer base pierce-carved with a Buddhist wheel and scrolling vines
