A WOOL AND COTTON JACQUARD-WOVEN COVERLET Harry Tyler, Jefferson County, New York, dated 1842 Hand-woven in two widths in ivory cotton and red wool for Sophia A Clark 1842, featuring foliate cartouches enclosing flowers and diamonds, framed on three sides by a rose tree and picket fence border with woven inscriptions Jefferson Co NY, the corner name blocks bearing the weaver's symbol, a stylized lion 93x88in.
