'Abd al-Rahman' Jami: Selected Poems

Persian manuscript on gold-sprinkled buff paper, 37ff. plus two flyleaves, each with 11ll. of elegant black nasta'liq in two columns, gold ruled divisions and illuminated intercolumnar divisions, gold, green and orange margins between black rules, blue outer rule, headings in gold in floral cartouches in gold and blue illuminated panels, (negligible smudging and spotting, very light worming to margins), opening folio with a minature of a youth and an old man holding a book, possibly intended as a representation of Jami, Tabriz, circa 1545, following folio with illuminated heading, (slightly splitting along margins), final folio with colophon signed by 'Ali b. Muhammad al-Qa'ini and dated Muharram 885 (creased), later maroon morocco binding with gold stamped medallion and pendants (light wear), marbled paper doublures
