Lot Essay

This piece was conceived by Picasso for a demonstration exhibition in Brussels in 1972. 18 colour stones were used in order to demonstrate the complexity of the lithographic proccess. During the exhibition, each colour decomposition was exhibited separately, with the artist selecting several for additional hand-colouring thereby further elaborating the proccess.
