Saint Francis of Paula in Glory, attended by Angels and Saints, in a painted arch

The prototype of circa 1660, is in the Saint Waltrudis Church, Mons, having been commissioned for the Cloister of the Order of the Minimi in the same city. (A. Roy, Theodoor van Thulden, 1991/92, under no.66, fig.99). A preliminary sketch is in the Rubenshuis, Antwerp (A. Roy, op. cit., no.66, ill.).
Saint Francis of Paula (1416-1517) was the founder of the Order of the Minimi.
