Albert Williams is a Brighton born floral artist. He has worked for Sanderson in their London Studio but is now based solely in Brighton, working as an artist and also creating work to be replicated on cards, posters and ceramics. He has exhibited in the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy and at the Paris Salon, as well as at numerous prominent London Galleries including The Fine Art Society and Frost & Reed, and with the Brighton Art Club.
This picture was painted as part of a series of works of flowers with the name "Elizabeth" to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother in the year 2000. Williams' exquisite attention to detail builds up the unique character of each picture; a fitting tribute to a woman whose vibrant personality and sense of duty were constants during a life spent serving her country.
