We are grateful to Fed Meijer, who, in a letter dated 24 February 2006, confirms the attribution on the basis of a photograph and tentatively dates the painting to the 1660s, noting that it shows the combined influences of Coosemans' teacher, Jan Davidsz. de Heem, and the trip he made to Italy around 1649/50.
